The Women’s Legacy team, the European Erasmus + KA201 educational innovation project led by the Conselleria of Education, Culture and Sport of the Generalitat Valenciana, has had the opportunity to hold important European meetings during their stay in Brussels at the invitation of the Spanish Embassy in Belgium to make a presentation at the Cervantes Institute.
On the one hand, they held a meeting with representatives of the General Directorate for Education and Culture of the European Commission, the project’s funding entity; who have expressed their interest in the development of Women’s Legacy and, likewise, in articulating measures so that it can be known in educational centers of the different member countries.
On the other hand, this visit to Brussels also made possible a meeting with the Spanish MEP Diana Riba, who is part of the Committee on Culture and Education, as well as the Committee on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality.
Riba proposed presenting Women’s Legacy within the framework of the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union together with MEPs from Lithuania, Italy and France, as well as educational managers from the Glasgow City Council (Scotland), so that the project is disseminated as a model transferable for the inclusion of female referents in the educational systems of any country.
“We have established relationships for future collaborations which will allow us to transfer our resources to different countries of the European Union, and we are very happy about this. We will continue working to materialize all these ideas together with the corresponding European authorities”, in the words of Ana López-Navajas, coordinator of Women’s Legacy.
