A conference on Women’s Legacy resources will be held in Gandia!

Women’s Legacy, the European Erasmus + KA201 project for educational innovation, led by the Conselleria d’Educació, Cultura i Esport of the Valencian Government, has recently added Gandia City Council as a participant, the fourth city council in the Valencian Community to join the project, besides Picassent, València and Montserrat.

Following this agreement, a set of conferences have been organised together with the Teacher Training Department, through the CEFIRE (centre for training, innovation and educational resources) in Gandia. In particular, on Friday 3* from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and on Saturday 4 all morning long, Women’s Legacy will be presented at Casa de la Marquesa. To that end, several talks will take place to explain the goal, the methodology and the resources of the project, aiming to introduce a universal, inclusive culture in schools.

In these Women’s Legacy conferences in Gandia, they will also explain how to develop work in different subjects or training modules at school, how to approach the inclusion of women in the curriculum of each subject or training module, and how to conduct the activities in the classroom with the resources created by the project.

Lastly, on March 13 there will be an online meeting from 18:00 to 20:00 to assess and comment on the activities done during the conferences on Women’s Legacy resources. Attendants will work in small groups, divided by subjects, and also in large group.

On the other hand, both Women’s Legacy and Gandia City Council have agreed to work in close collaboration to promote women in the Borgia family, their work, the places they lived in and their influence in the construction of the city. Besides, the project will contribute to the inclusion of artistic, literary, and musical works by women in Gandia’s cultural agenda. To that end, there will be a permanent revision of the works included in municipal and school libraries, and collaboration in the editing of texts written by women, to recover women’s genealogy.

*The conference on Friday 3 will be open to the general public. Certificates will only be given to teachers.
