Women’s Legacy, the European project Erasmus+ KA201 of educational innovation led by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports of the Valencian Regional Government, has grown in membership since its inception in 2020, aiming to include women’s contributions in history, culture and science into the school curriculum. Up to January 2023, over 130 institutions have joined this collaborative work network.

Over half of them are education centres (secondary education, vocational training, schools for adults) located in cities all over Spain: València, Alicante, Salamanca, Madrid, Asturias, Ibiza, Lugo, Zamora and Seville, among others. Several conservatories have also joined, such as the ones in València, Cartagena and Burgos.

In the academic field, the addition of over twenty universities and research groups, both national and international, stands out. In Spain, the universities of Alicante, Sevilla, Vic, Barcelona, Tarragona and Palma de Mallorca have joined. Other European universities, such as Université Paris 8 and University of Glasgow, have also decided to join the network that Women’s Legacy has been weaving for three years.

For their part, local and provincial governments, publishing houses and educational and cultural associations have also decided to take part in the project. Some examples are Edicions Bromera, Associació per la Coeducació, Acció Cultural, Sorkin, the Royal Institute for Inter-Faith Studies in Jordan, Mujeres en la música, and Past Women, among others.

All these institutions have joined Women’s Legacy willing to contribute to the study of the legacy of women in several fields of knowledge, to the creation of the intellectual outputs to disseminate it, and to the implementation of said outputs to make possible a change towards real equality, starting from schools and cultural spaces.

Besides, Women’s Legacy has nine partner institutions from Spain, Italy, Lithuania and Scotland: Conselleria d’Educació, Glasgow City Council, Universitat de València, Vilniaus Universitetas, El Legado de las Mujeres, Escuela Sindical de Formación Melchor Botella, IAL Nazionale (Innovazione Apprendimento Lavoro), IES Benicalap in València and IIS Luigi Einaudi in Italy.
