The European Erasmus + project Women’s Legacy, led by the Conselleria d’Educació, Cultura i Esport of the Generalitat Valenciana, has recently signed four collaboration agreements with universities in Catalunya and Balearic Islands, thus initiating its presence in this autonomous community. It is the case of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), the Universitat de Vic – Universitat Central de Catalunya (UVic-UCC), the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV), which is the public university of Tarragona; and the Universitat de les Illes Balears (UIB).
Specifically, Montserrat Bacardí Tomàs, director of the chair Càtedra de Traducció Jordi Arbonès and the Contemporary Catalan Translation Study Group (GETCC) at the UAB; Pilar Godayol, coordinator of the consolidated research group Gender Studies: Translation, Literature, History and Communication (GETLIHC) at UVic-UCC; Montserrat Palau, from the Josep Anton Baixeras Chair for Catalan Literary Heritage, together with Magí Sunyer from the Research Group on Identities in Catalan Literature (GRILC) at the URV; and Margalida Pons, director of the research group Contemporary literature from a theoretical and comparative perspective (LiCETC); were the people in charge of formalizing the agreements on behalf of these institutions.
In this way, the Women’s Legacy network counts now with around 30 entities, both national and international, including several partners: Glasgow City Council Education Services (United Kingdom), Vilniaus universitetas (Lithuania), Innovazione Apprendimento Lavoro Nazionale and IIS Luigi Einaudi (Italy), together with Universitat de València, the association El Legado de las Mujeres, Escola Sindical de Formació Melchor Botella and IES Benicalap (Spain).
The recent collaborations with UAB, UVic-UCC and URV mean that the dissemination of the Women’s Legacy project is widening and it is joining efforts with other departments and education professionals in Catalunya and Balearic Islands.
