Representatives of all partners participating in Women’s Legacy gathered in Rome from December 13 to December 15 for the third transnational meeting of the project. The meeting took place in the facilities of IIS Luigi Einaudi and Innovazione Apprendemiento Lavoro Nazionale (IAL Nazionale) and it was an opportunity to share the last advances on the catalogues, the revision system for the created sheets and the inclusion of materials in the IT platform that is being specially developed for the project.
Moreover, one of the main topics of the meeting was the STEM training. All contents of this training course have been shared in order to vertebrate and coordinate its diffusion in the partner countries (Spain, Italy, Scotland and Lithuania). The STEM training is aimed at teachers, both in secondary schools and in secondary education teacher training master degrees or similar. “The main goal is to offer this training to as many teachers as possible, and in as many places as possible”, explains Ana López-Navajas, Women’s Legacy’s project manager.
Furthermore, Conselleria d’Educació is planning the launch of the STEM training, a 30-hour, free online course, in the spring of 2022. In the words of Ana López-Navajas: “The objective is not only promoting female scientists but transforming and broadening the concept of science and providing tools to include them in the teaching methodology used in secondary schools and universities. This practical approach will lead to a real change starting from the classrooms”.
Finally, it is worth mentioning that several students from IIS Luigi Einaudi planned a guided tour around the city for the Women’s Legacy partners who attended this transnational meeting in Rome. “Following COVID-19 safety recommendations, we are grateful for this opportunity to be in touch, since it allowed our team to strengthen the bond that this project has created”, Ana López-Navajas concludes.
