Paris 8 University joins Women’s Legacy as a collaborating entity

The Women’s Legacy network has not stopped growing since the launch of this European project led by the Conselleria d’Educació de la Generalitat Valenciana. Recently, another international collaborating entity has been added: Paris 8 University. Particularly, the director of the research group LER (Laboratoire d’Études Romanes), Pascale Thibaudeau, has signed the agreement with our coordinator, Ana López-Navajas.

In this way, the Paris 8 University joins the more than 20 institutions that currently support Women’s Legacy. This collaboration means that our project will become known in France through the LER research group. This will create new synergies with other education departments and professionals who will be able to test the five intellectual products we are developing.

These are, on the one hand, the resource bank and the three catalogues of works (music, literature and art), which will be presented soon. These will be available online and free of charge. On the other hand, STEM training, whose pilot edition aimed at secondary school teachers in the Valencia Community is underway through the Centre for Training, Innovation and Educational Resources (CEFIRE). Thus, the course will be improved thanks to this first experience and will be completed with a view to offering it at more educational levels.

The collaboration agreement with the Paris 8 University also provides the basis for this institution to become a full partner in the next phases of Women’s Legacy, as is already the case with Glasgow City Council Education Services (United Kingdom), Vilniaus Universitetas (Lithuania), Innovazione Apprendimento Lavoro Nazionale and IIS Luigi Einaudi (Italy), together with Universitat de València, El Legado de las Mujeres association, Escola Sindical de Formació Melchor Botella and IES Benicalap (Spain).

However, the community around Women’s Legacy is always open for new partnerships at local, national and international levels, understanding that the multiple contributions of women throughout history must be included in educational content all over the world and that this will be the key to eradicating gender inequality everywhere.
